Tårnbrygga - the northen ferry quay

Narrow marshes and mudflats on both sides of Tårnbrygga attract reasonable amounts of shorebirds and other wetland species, mostly in autumn. Especially on the north side there are stretches of mudflats at low tide. The fields nearby can also be worth checking.

Tårnbrygga is easily reached from the main road on the island. Turn down towards the landward side at the lighthouse, mind closing the gate, and walk past the farm and the tavern (Haga vertshus). The road leads directly out to the quay. Telescope is a great advantage

Recommended seasons: autumn (August-September) and spring (April-May)

Typical species: shorebirds (Dunlin and other Calidris species, Ringed Plover, Tringa waders).

Recommended watchpoints: from the road leading out to Tårnbrygga
